The most tender of all God's personal characteristics is His love. His Word says, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God." (1 John 4:7) Love is what God is - not just something he does.

God's love reaches out to everyone. It is universal, too. "For God so loved the world" comes right out of John 3:16.

God's love is universal but man's need is universal, too. "For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". (Romans 3:23) You have a need, as each of us does, for we have each sinned. We are sinners in need of His love. "In sin my mother conceived me." (Psalm 51:5) "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves." (1 John 1:8)

The Penalty of sin is death and separation from God. "The wages of sin is death". (Romans 6:23)

God has provided a way of salvation through sending His own Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. "The Lord laid on Him the iniquity of us all". (Isaiah 53.6)

To receive salvation we must place our faith in the work of Jesus Christ and invite Him to forgive our sins and be our Savior. Such a gift of grace is the work of God toward us. "For by grace we are saved through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is a gift of God. It is not of works lest we should boast about it". (Ephesians 2:8-9)
